Exisiting and planned central universities in the North East of India

The noth eastern states/union territories of India and the central universities and other centrally funded institutions ther are:

Arunachal Pradesh: NERIST
Assam: Assam Univ, Tezpur Univ, IIT Guwahati, Central Inst Kokrajhar
Meghalaya: NEHU Shillong
Manipur: Manipur U, proposed IIM Shillong
Mizoram: Mizoram U
Nagaland: Nagaland U
Sikkim: Proposed Sikkim U
Tripura: Proposed Tripura U

This is really great that all these states, execpt Arunachal Pradesh, now have their own central universities, and IIT and a proposed IIM. This is very important to bring these states closer to the rest of India. The government should next target a central univ in Arunachal Pradesh.

However, after that the government of India should start looking at the backward district clusters in all of India, and many of these districst are also very remote in terms of their accessibility. As a result education at all levels in these districts is in shambles. The government should establish central universities in such district clusters so that they produce more local teachers and doctors who have a higher chance of staying around the area.
